Advancing Photonics on a Chip

Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) are transforming applications that incorporate optical technologies. By moving from complex, discrete optical systems to fully integrated microchips, PICs enable advanced sensing and communication devices that are scalable to higher manufacturing volumes at a significantly lower cost.

To accelerate this industry shift, our work focuses on two core efforts. First, we are making strategic investments into Montana partner capabilities to build out the critical infrastructure needed for rapid prototyping, testing, and engineering scale-up. Second, we launched PhotonIQ—a product development entity specifically designed to help organizations successfully transition their technologies into integrated photonics and navigate the path to production.
