Supporting Tribal Education Pathways (STEP)

The Supporting Tribal Education Pathways (STEP) Project works to build a growth-minded learning ecosystem that cultivates individual, collective, and culturally based STEM identities in rural and Tribal communities The initiative supports both individual and collective learning rooted in culture, while preparing students for careers in science, technology, engineering, and math.

By expanding access to STEM education and skill development, STEP helps grow the current and future workforce from these communities. The goal is to equip students with the knowledge and experience needed to compete in today’s technology-driven economy while contributing to the strength, resilience, and security of their own communities and the nation.

This approach reflects the broader focus on expanding opportunity, strengthening pathways, and building future-ready talent across Montana’s technology ecosystem.
